Divine Destiny

I had the privilege of singing True North on Friday night at the Divine Destiny event, hosted by Glenn Beck and David Barton, at the Kennedy Center in Washington D.C. The evening, attended by ministry leaders from across the country, focused on gratefully acknowledging God's hand in the formation and development of our national heritage.

As Glenn pointed out at the Restoring Honor rally on Saturday, there are theological issues, both large and small, on which we do not all agree. However, we do agree that as Americans, we desperately need to return to a posture of humility before Almighty God. We must return to a place of honoring Him in our society, in our government, and in our individual hearts and lives.

Please remember to pray diligently for God's mercy and forgiveness and for His healing and restoration of our nation. Pray for His blessing, protection and direction. Pray for His will to be done in the upcoming November elections. And please prayerfully choose to support and vote for candidates who honor God and His principles in their lives and legislation.

What a great reminded to pray for our country. I love that you were specific. I will be joining you humbly before the Father throughout the day.

Twila, you have ministered to me and my family for decades (I'm aging both of us) with your wonderful music. Thank you for allowing God to use you so greatly in our lives.

I do have concerns though about the weekend events. I appreciate Glenn Beck and much of what he does from a political standpoint. However, our disagreements with Glenn Beck over religion are hardly minor. He is right that we need to turn back to God as a nation but his Mormon conception of God is not the biblical one that we hold as Christians. In fact, it is not even close. To prepare for battle, our trumpets must give no uncertain sounds. Religion and piety will not save us, only the Gospel.

I do not intend this as a criticism of you for your participation but just wanted to voice my concerns as a person who pastors a church. Thank you once again for your ministry.

It's great that you and your father were participants.

I watched Beck's interview on Sunday and some of the spots pulled from the event. I don't see how anyone can argue with his attitude and general message: we need help, and we all need to pray.

Besides that, it was nice to see your family at the YWAM reunion conference. I told your brother that Marian and I were going to stop by the College on one of our trips back east.

God bless, nice to find your weblog, too.

Mrs. Paris,

The name of the event, itself, speaks volumes to me. I am glad many years ago, you chose to listen to His voice. Your obedience to Him has raised you up, for such a time as this. As you know, this is your destiny~ to have a powerful impact upon the United States of America.

You are correct; it is time for us to realign ourselves and our country in the position of, "TRUE NORTH". "Now is the time" for us to leave the ways of this world that keep us attracted to magnetic north.

Twila, Thank God for you and for your ministry! What a wonderful way to bring people together in a common stand. Just as our nation was founded by people with many different beliefs but still committed to joining together as a people, this event was a great display of American unity. Thank you, and God Bless You!

I saw your concert in Lubbock, Texas several years ago and just loved it! I love all of your songs.
